Adriana Gaviria: If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. People are extremely rude, every time you talk to them or ask for something it feels like you’re annoying them and making them work. They also double charge you for drinks and food you consume. We ordered some drinks to the pool and we paid for them but at the time to check-out we discovered we were being charged again. Rooms are clean but you have to beg somebody to bring you some towels. Our mini-fridge was damaged and we tried to call to the reception with no answer because guess what? The phone didn’t work either, so we went downstairs to report the issue but it was never fixed. We stayed for a wedding and almost every guest was treated poorly. The only good thing about this hotel is that you can escape to the mall which is right next to it. Hopefully this is helpful.

Simon Terrington: - the only hotel I have stayed at for over 40 years where you pay more for almond milk- also no water in the room when I arrived and paid 10.000 upon arrival for two bottles of water ! John Escobar: Very surprised to be hosted by the receptionist LEYDY CASALLAS, who in a very disrespectful way provided support with our check in. This hotel worker was not properly dressed (no tag name in the jacket, and the jacket itself looked like it was not hers) Very dissatisfied and disappointed with the service at the checkout and check in. I can't believe this hotel is 5 stars rated.

Alvaro Ramirez: Very good place to stay with big rooms and good breakfast, with a Buena Vista shopping mall in front of hotel Rooms: Rooms were big enough for 4 , with a queen size bed and a sofa-bed. Food & drinks: Very good service and staff is very helpful in the breakfast area.

Humberto Viana: Horrible experience. Upon check in on a tuesday night there was a Huge event the music was so loud, the floor shook. I went to the lobby they thought the party ended but kept going on for an hour. Check in staff is extremely rude. Everyone is. Upon check out lady was asking where my third key was acting like she was attempting to charge me for it.

James Cymbalisty: Overall good. Room was large and the King bed very comfortable. Well located with lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. Revolving restaurant at the top was disappointing, with a poor view and below average food. The hotel is old and could use some painting and renovations.

Aaron Klapow: We were at this hotel for several days and we’re extremely satisfied with almost everything about it. The rooms were nicely furnished, had good amenities and were spotless. The staff everywhere were helpful and gracious. The quality of the food and drink service was very high and the menu was very diverse. The one negative for us was after making a reservation using its corporate website, it was almost impossible to get a phone call from abroad answered at the hotel. This marred an otherwise outstanding experience.

Tino Bambino: Had a great time at Hotel Estelar, The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The hotel rooms were very clean and neat. I love the pool with a scenic view of the city. I paid extra for the massage and it was definitely worth it. The location is right in the center of the city with the supermarket right across the street and access to taxis right outside. I highly recommend this place.

Bee Bee: The photos on the listing are a little misleading. The front desk people are nice but they will try hard to keep you and your money if you don’t want to stay. So choose carefully and don’t trust Priceline with out of the country unknown deals. The restaurant is great!

Shane Cameron: Hey, it’s a nice property and very clean. Breakfast was nice, room is nice except the air conditioner. I don’t care how low you turn the temperature, it will default to 24.5c They’ve gone too far with the “green agenda”. Please, just let us be comfortable. I don’t like to sweat all night, as it is not romantic. The staff is excellent. Service is great. Just please let your guests enjoy a cool room.

Sven Sommerer: A very good hotel in a perfect place. Very close to different hospitals, close to some big shopping center and an absolutely stunning rooftop pool. Nice music on the rooftop and a great view over barranquilla. I recommand this hotel and will be happy to come back

Courtney Morris: We stayed here for the Barranquilla Carnival and I feel like the property opened early for carnival and was not ready for the public. There was no hot water, the wifi didn't work in our room, the TV had no cable, the AC didn't work in our room (which they "fixed", but we couldn't change the settings after). There was a big hole in the ceiling in our room where the sprinkler was installed and paid was everywhere around the windows like it was rushed to complete the room. Also in the morning you could hear them still doing construction. I talked to management that I thought that these things were unacceptable given that some of things are advertised and are expected to be offered given the price tag. He said that he understood and to email him and he will provide an appropriate refund. I have emailed the hotel twice and have not gotten any response. Definitely wouldn't stay here or recommend it.

Ryan Mace: I would not consider this a 4 start hotel. It lacks basic amenities such as an iron and ironing board. The paint was peeling off the walls in the bathroom. The internet was unacceptably slow. When I tested my download speed it was between 1 megabyte and 2. The person working the front desk was nice. But overall, I had much higher expectations for the property.

Chris: Nice little hotel in Alto Prado de Barranquilla. This area is safe and close to the best restaurants in Barranquilla. It’s very centrally located. The hotel for the price is very good. It could use a light renovation, but most importantly it was clean. Also the internet and TV didn’t work. This seems to be common in other comments too - so don’t expect internet when staying here. The breakfast was great and plentiful. Lastly the staff is very kind and helpful. They always were happy to help! I will return.

Clémence Bailly: Very good hotel in Barranquilla in a safe district. The personal was very helpful and comprehensive. We’ve got a room there during the carnival of Barranquilla after weird issues in our previous hotel. The standard room rate is about $190,000 COP with breakfast. The bedroom was very spacious and clean. The location was quiet. Furthermore the room was well equipped (television, fridge, enough plugs, hairdryer and a safe). The breakfast was also inclusive in the room rate. It was a buffet with various breads, mueslis, fruits, scramble eggs, waffles and different local specialties. I would definitely go there again. The only negative point is the WiFi which works but still not very fast.

Zak Harmon: I stayed in the suite, had A/C and minibar. Service was great, food was great as well! The only reason why I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because the hotel does not prioritize its guests for the beach seating area under the umbrellas. They must have a separate business for that. As guests of the hotel we felt undervalued being asked to rush because our spot was reserved by someone else not staying at the hotel. Barranquilla is incredibly humid and you definitely want to enjoy space in the shade if you visit the beach. They need to prioritize hotel guests on the beach.

Laura Suárez Salazar: It is a good place, comfortable and tricky, apart from the food was exquisite, the attention was also very good and Mr. Florentino is a beauty of a person, the place is highly recommended. Rey Reyes: I'm giving it 4 stars because truly only one person on that team was able to make me feel comfortable as possible during my 4 day stay. Steven went above and beyond his job duties and was extremely alert. He showed he was about his customers and made every effort to go that extra mile. I was very thrown off only to see him upstairs in the pool area and so many other servers and waiters downstairs who need much more training. There customer service skills was not friendly and they did not make you feel notice. I sat at my table few of the days and not one person came up to greet me to ask if I need coffee or anything else. Steven would be phenomenal and outshine those other waiters. As an ambassador (status) I would have expected much more than I received. The breakfast was semi horrible. It was constantly cold and every day was same meals. This was my experience and not others, but to be ambassador, you must travel a lot and to know what good service is, I can recognize it and speak to it.

Izabelle: It has a very convenient location where you can find lots of top-notch restaurants and shopping malls. The facilities itself is kind of brand-new, well-maintained and spick & span. But I hope that they will provide apples for breakfast down the road. Francisco “Paco” Vilaro: Everything that you expect about this hotel from its five star rating is a lie. Large rooms? Ours (116) was only 140-150 square feet, with a horrible musty odor, a non-working safe, plus a horrible bathroom in which the sliding doors had to be lifted to open and the water never warmed up. Service was awful. Every catered event - service employees had no class nor the intention of providing service. Not to mention, food everywhere in the hotel is a joke (our pool bar food - a seafood stew soup and a surf and turf - were not even salted in the slightest). The free breakfast we were getting was better, but that’s not saying much. What was particularly concerning to us was when on one of the days, an employee at around 5PM attempted to enter our room after it had been cleaned, while we were still inside. They did not knock. After I heard the door open, I confronted verbally (I was napping) and by the time I went to check the door the person was long gone. After reading the review from a person who lost all of their valuables while on their stay, I feel like I dodged a bullet. There were also random interruptions aside from that. Receiving phone calls at 3am and then no response after was one of them. It is also 8:25 in the morning on a Saturday and they are playing music from the poolside area at concert level volumes. My girlfriend woke up from it and we are livid. I would never stay in this hotel again even if it was paid for me. Yes, the exterior is very grandiose, and so is the interior design of the walkways and the pool area, but nothing can wash off the bad taste of everything else.

Jim Oray: First, I will write the positives; the hotel is very elegant, the staff is very friendly, the breakfast is amazing, and the pool is very nice. Now for the negatives; in our first room the wifi was terrible, the fridge didn't work, the music from the live band downstairs was so loud it was like the band was outside our door, the TV setup didn't work, no ironing board and no microwave or coffee maker. In our second room, the music was almost as loud, the shower overflowed, the TV setup didn't work, plus the other items mentioned above. I do not recommend this hotel.

Trent316: Knowing this place so well, I had such high hopes for this hotel. There wasn’t one single good experience I can count from this hotel. This is a three-star hotel. Installations are acceptable. No gym. No coffee in my room nor snacks. No microwave. No coffee maker. I asked for a fridge and never worked. No ironing board (I asked for one and never got it !!). The safe was not working, the shower drain was clogged and the bathroom was flooding. The TV setup was not working. Noisy like hell due to events hosted by the pool with FULL VOLUME. The WiFi was cutting in and out all the time. What a horrible place. A nightmare, especially Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There are no ice makers in the whole hotel. If you want ice you have to go and buy it across the street. Management is a TOTAL JOKE. I DO NOT Recommend this hotel !!!

They just disappeared and when I reported to the Hotel I had no response. I am very sorry for all that situation since the hotel is very nice. Physically, it is spectacular to be able to stay in such an iconic place as the Hotel Del Prado. Unfortunately there are people who should not work here. Indelicate people and not to mention the administration.

Let’s go with Hyro: If you are looking for a classic colonial style place to stay this is the one in Barranquilla. It's impressive the long list of celebrities that have stayed here over the years. I was not impressed with the rooms, yet I can understand the concept of keeping them simple and "old style", wouldn't have it any other way. The facilities though sure made up for it, especially the swimming pool and staff.

Jose Orozco: Not my first time here at this hotel but I keep getting rooms with issues, this time was a strong humidity issue inside, and the water from the shower running through the whole bath very uncomfortable specially when I planned my vacation for a premier suite and they tried to replace it with a downgraded smaller room to the rate I paid. Service is the best but this is normal everywhere in colombia. This was my 4th time here but my last one. Apologies at the end of the stay are not enough for the uncomfortable stay.

Lp “Lp girl” Girl: Hotel is close to a shopping center, restaurants and more all walking distance. The staff is friendly and helpful. Food is good especially breakfast. The pool is a must. The hotel rooms are dark colors and the one thing I noticed is the air conditioner was shut off for an hour or 2 early morning everyday because I would wake up hot. My windows were so dirty I couldn't see out of the window at the view.

Tv not working , shower leaking and no towels … Towels seem to be a commodity at this hotel that’s hard to come by , even poolside …..Our room keys were a MAJOR issue every other day to everyday sometimes … We were inconvenienced by having to re-key them and then had trouble getting into the elevator because of this … We were asked over and over again not to put them near our phone or other credit cards ..We never did … I travel over 50K miles a year on business …. I know this procedure ….

hey Simmone: Loved this place. Absolutely friendly and professional staff, from the front desk to the waitstaff to housekeeping. Enjoyed the food and the cocktails. Cons: rooms and hallway was very damp and humid and musty. Had to keep the air conditioning running cold just to keep the musty smell to a minimum. Rooms could use a more thorough cleaning in between guests.

Matthew: I will start with the good things about the hotel... - The pool and terrace are pretty cool and there is a nice view of Barranquilla - The staff was generally friendly - Hotel rooms weren't too bad (beds were alright and more or less clean) - The restaurant food quality was VERY good (the head chef deserves more recognition) That said, there are a lot of things this hotel can do to provide better service because based on my stay it's definitely not a 5 star experience as of now. Here are my suggestions: 1. Stop inconveniencing your guests The main thing that turned me off and will prevent me from staying at the Movich again is how willing and comfortable the staff and management are with inconveniencing their guests. In my opinion, the obligation of the hotel should be to make their guests feel as welcome and appreciated as possible. Multiple times I was asked to leave cash tips, asked to leave the terrace/pool for private events, asked to pay extra to use the amenities that I had already paid for by being a guest of the hotel. To me, this is the biggest sign that management really does not care about their guests. 2. Hire more staff I was never able to get more fresh towels the entire weekend as there appeared to be a shortage. Long wait times for check-in and check-out, dirty tables in the restaurant, the servers have to attend to too many people (not their faults). There were empty beer bottles on my floor all day from a party the night before. Lots of stuff that needs to be addressed here. The overall experience was not terrible, but there are much better options like the Four Points Sheraton for roughly the same price. I honestly think that with a few adjustments this hotel could be quite nice actually. But it will definitely require more attention to hiring and a slight culture shift from management to get there.

Daniel Ratzow: One of the most horrific hotel experiences we have ever had. The hotel didn't even deserve a star for the service. As a foreign guest you have the feeling that you are not welcome! The hospitality is absolutely bad. The rooms are fine. The breakfast buffet doesn't deserve a star! At lunch we had to wait over 60 minutes for the meal after placing the order. If. you don’t tip, we’ve even pointed it out to you via a Google translator. Horror!!! The staff is completely uncoordinated and haphazard. we cannot understand how other guests could give 4 or more stars. We will never again set foot in hotels of this group. Terrible!!!!

Gregorio Galati: The hotel looks good, but the service is poor, the gym is awful , no water, no towels , the equipment is old, torn and damaged. The hotel is renewing carpets in the middle of the day, so you have to breathe carpet glue while you are in the lobby. Reception desk can take up to 20 minutes to answer calls.

1022christian: the facilities are good but we have an issue by the time of the check out, after 10 mins we left the room (closed door) for the checkout we came back because we forgot our iphone charger, they said it wasn't there. Not the only customers they have the same situation with, two ladies from Peru lost their wallets at the pool and also other couple lost their belonging and did not receive a valid answer from the staff

Tech Point: It's a good hotel overall. Except for the manager which avoid customers, and one of the ladies in the lobby which is lazy. Besides that the rest is pretty good. Joe Sniffer: Honestly a horrible experience for three days and I wish I picked a different hotel. First, the wifi is garbage. In my first room it was impossible to connect with my phone or my other devices. They moved me to a different room but it had many problems. There wasn’t a remote for the tv, the room was dirty in places, the TV was positioned facing the floor, and my keys kept deactivating. I probably wasted 4 hours moving rooms, speaking to management, and waiting for new keys. The manager gave me an 80.000 credit to use at the restaurant but every time I went to buy something I had to argue with the staff because they knew nothing about it. So that wasted even more time. The one exercise machine they have is broken with parts laying around on the ground. They have nice dumbbells but no bench to use them with. Also, the gym is not air conditioned (most of the building is not air conditioned either). The automatic light in the bathroom next to the gym turns off in about 3 minutes. So you can expect to be in the dark if you use that bathroom. Their mask policy is a joke. You don’t need to use masks anywhere in the building except when you are getting your food from the buffet where they will hassle you. You can be maskless in the main areas, elevators, the bar, the restaurant, walking into the breakfast area, eating in the breakfast area, and everywhere else. But you absolutely have to wear a mask at the buffet six feet from the tables where’s it’s not required. The management goes against the WHO and every scientific study to enforce this unscientific requirement. Absolutely terrible experience and I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Ernesto Foodie: - Check in process was easy however we had issues with the room keys which was replaced twice. Even after thebkey was replaced for the second time the key didn't open the room. - One of the lifts was on maintenance which made the waiting time to go up or down a bit annoyed. - Breakfast was good, a lot of variety and good flavours, juices, eggs, bread, arepa, fruits and so on... it is buffet type. - Nice pool on the rooftop. - Overpriced minibar on the rooms (nothing out of ordinary on this kind of hotels). - Spacious rooms and toilets whit everything needed to either work or enjoy some time off.

Jefferson Kim: The water doesn't get as hot as you may like. You need to run for like 5 minutes first. Otherwise, for the price, perhaps good enough. Their gym has strong mold smell. Breakfast is good enough. Bathroom window didn't close, broken. No problem checking out earlier than planned.

The One: We have stayed here 4 times in the last year for a total of 6 weeks. The staff is amazing, breakfast is great, the facilites are clean, the pools are perfect for families and the location is also great. 3 of my favorite restaurants in Barranquilla are on the same road within walking distance. Rooms: The rooms are clean and quiet, my favorite combination Walkability: I walk to and from work everytime we visit, 3 of my favorite restaurants are within 4 blocks, as are ATMs, grocery store, a moderately sized playground and a very large drug store. Excellent location, the only caveat is that some sidewalks are rough so walking with a stroller can be a bit dicey.

Ric R: I don't recommend this hotel for Americans... The reception area rarely picks up the phone and if you speak English they will automatically transfer the call and then the call is not picked up. Called reception at least 15 times with no satisfactory until I went downstairs and spoke with a nice gentleman that was a supervisor. He was kind enough to accommodate me with what I needed. I prefer the Four Seasons because they care enough to call you back or send someone up to your room to see what you need. Next time I will be staying there!

aldo maldonado: I stood there for 5 days last summer. I loved the service, the food, the location. I found this place to be very affordable and in a prime location. If I was to ever go back to Barranquilla, I would stay there again. Our room was upgraded for free. Very pleasant people in the breakfast area. I honestly did not have any complains. I would recommend it again and again.

Mario MM: Extremely noisy, had to sleep with ear plugs. Elevators working chaotically. Hot water was not present, thank God that the outside temperature was in the 90's°F (30°C) and water was not too cold - I showered with cold water for 3 days. Breakfast is mediocre at best. Service is half-decent, they are trying their best, this is the reason for the second star. The last floor restaurant was supposed to offer a view of the city, but the windows were EXTREMELLY dirty. Music in this restaurant is way too loud, hard to hear yourself thinking. If you have the possibility to stay elsewhere do not hesitate. I know I will not set foot here again.

Peter Sauerwein: Arrived late evening - someone was there to greet us and bring up luggage - great! Credit card machine was broken, had to pay in the morning. No filtered water on site - had to go around the corner. Room was only ok - peeling paint and dirty windowsills. A/C worked. Whole place was under construction. No obvious place for breakfast. It’s an ok hotel, but there are better options!

Ster Geon: Stay away! We got zero sleep, the owners book the hotel for parties and blasted music from 4pm to midnight. Failed us at the most basic level. Guests need sleep.

wara belen saavedra palizza: The hotel standards are basic/low. When walking into the room after checking in the first thing that stroke us was the moldy funny smell. Furniture inside the room is old and lacked of maintenance. The wifi didn’t even get to our room so the staff placed a router inside on the 2nd day. Breakfast is ok but don’t expect anything great. Won’t be staying there again or recommending this place to anyone.

Robin Luchies: I really don't know why this hotel has an 4 star rating. Some good things about the hotel. The location off the hotel is ok. The bed is perfect. For the rest the maintaince off the hotel is really bad. Pretty much everything was old, it looks good when u look for 1 second. After that u see that it is in a poor condition. The hotel was half full, and I have the idea that they placed us in a really bad room. No wifi, so I couldn't work. The breakfast was really basic.

Amairani Fruechte: Not a five star hotel. Comforter was dirty when we got there. Booked 3 nights through another website and the hotel won't refund us for the 2 nights we didn't stay there, very frustrating and dissapointing. Would recommend another hotel. Pool is tiny and empty, but they play music all day and it's very loud. The only good thing during our stay was the breakfast. They seem to take advantage of people traveling from the US.

Sandra cbl: Arrived mid-construction in January 2017 thus you either have the traffic ambience noise or the construction as a courtesy wake-up call. From the pool and relaxing sitting areas one can enjoy the amazing views and sounds of the construction. The included breakfast can take up to 1 hour to serve an omelette... the TV may or may not have signal throughout the day... worst expeience... do not stay here.

Nelson DeMichele: Very disappointed To start we get assigned a wrong room and 1 and 1/2 later is when the error is corrected. From room keys not working; even after reprograming three times a Day. To toilet overflowing, to hair dryer not turning on. Bed sheets are dirty and shelf / bookshelf / furniture dirty and dusty. Halls are hot and hotel overall look under managed. Outside fade looks corroded and worn down. Water Heater wires are exposed with thin tape separating a short circuit. An interesting observation. Toilets are oversized, however toilet seat are on the smaller size. Room service / front desk takes for ever to answer phone.. And forget about a quiet night. Hotel has no consideration for guest; loud music is played till late all around. .

Andreina Tejeda: Sad sad. This place is in dismay and run down. Do not feel save Water Filtration in the rooms; bed sheets , furniture and towels dirty. The outside facade is falling apart, hopefully the “Miami Surfside, building collapse” does not repeat!! Simple task as changing a light bulb is not even perform. The main entrance had bad bulbs over a week. All positive reviews mentions “staff was great” but do not mention what staff!! Most likely given are fake reviews that google needs to review. Was a Google account created just to post a review!!

dennis jo: this hotel is not for international guests. the staff speaks spanish only. no english. the bed was very confortable the Wi-Fi was fast and coverage was good, room was quite at night. how ever the breakfast buffet offers very limited options. I aked the reception one day in advance to arrange a transferto cartagena airport. this was confirmed by the reception staff but they arranged a transfer to Barranquilla airport by error. after I realized something was wrong I had to arrange the correct transfer to Cartagena Airport by my self on very short notice to catch my flight. the hotel said sorry for the mistake but did not accepted any responsebility. the conversation was over when I asked them to compensate at least part of the additional costa. I had to pay all additional costs by my self. instead of 50.000 COP I has to pay 350.000 COP in total just beacue they mixed up two different airports.

Jefferson Kim: Internet decent enough compared to all I've seen. Hot water. Soft bed.For the price value, probably my primary choice for now.

Recently built property with good soundproofing and effective A/C Spacious room with a very comfortable bed. Nice bathroom with an Italian shower. Reception lent me a mobile phone for mobile data tethering as there was no Internet connection in our room. Ice dispenser on even floors. Nice, professional, and friendly staff. Well-located plugs to charge our devices, though there could have been more of them. Internet was not working in our room. No minibar/fridge. Bad lighting, especially over the desk and over the sink, so that it was difficult to shave. Ice dispensers quickly empty. View over a middle-class building with clothes drying outside was awful. No rooftop bar or pool.

Land and sea with Pacho: Every time I go to Barranquilla I stay at this Hotel. Besides being well located, they have great staff and service. Spacious rooms, that are well kept and very clean. Breakfast is very complete and balanced. They offer parking space within the property and they can also arrange transportation to any place in the city including the airport.

Edwin Perez Jr: Staff are attentive and friendly. Somewhere there was a picture and a claim of a pool on hotel booking websites, but they don't have that. (The hotel should make sure to fix that and be accurate about their amenities on other booking sites). The hotel is small but the rooms are up to date and comfortable. The breakfast is good too. Overall, for what it is, the Hotel is pleasant and conveniently located in a great area. Lots of restaurants and bars across the street. It's close to the malls.

Mami DIY: Such lovely place, the attention is superb. My room was very clean and everyone will welcome you each time with a nice smile. Very good location, great breakfast (delicious Colombian menu), very professional room service. I will definely come back to this wonderful hotel... and fully recommended it to anyone.

Gustavo Villa: I’m a frequent traveler to Barranquilla. Sites is a brand new hotel, with a great location near all the main shopping centers and places of interest of the city. I was delighted with the contemporary design of every space, as well as the carefully decorated and spacious rooms. The staff of the hotel is very kind and helpful.

Elkin Osorio: Excellent attention, spacious and clean rooms, breakfast is varied and very good. The location is ideal for activities to the north of the city (Caimán del Río, convention center, shopping centers, etc.)

Martha Rocio Alvarez Serrano: 5 stars great breakfast, stay, has parking, gym, super clean. As a recommendation they should have a cot. The rest is super and a whole art to go.

Pablo Camargo: I arrived at Sites Barranquilla and what a pleasant surprise to find a hotel with a spectacular Lobby and warm attention; the cozy rooms, with quality amenities and super finishes, I really liked that I have Nespresso capsules and a coffee machine in the room; on the top floor a comfortable restaurant and bar make you want to have a few drinks with friends. But the best thing is the AAA service, the impeccable work of the housekeeping, the friendliness of the people in the restaurant and front desk.
